Smiling is one of the most important communication skills a person can utilise to generate personal and professional success, and veneers are one of the easiest ways to achieve a perfect smile in as little as two appointments. If you have noticed your teeth yellowing, or if you have multiple issues that you would rather fix in one go then veneers are for you.

At Refresh Dental Spa in Brisbane our porcelain veneers can boost your smile-related confidence for over a decade. Veneers are custom made to create a natural-looking, beautiful smile tailored specifically to you. This is a great cosmetic procedure to create a permanent pearly white grin, all within a few visits to our Brisbane dental practice.

Veneers Before and After

Veneers can be used to conceal and improve a number of smile issues:

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Discoloured teeth
  • Gaps or unwanted spaces between teeth
  • Asymmetrical teeth
  • Teeth that are too long or too short
  • Crooked teeth (that do not require orthodontic attention)
  • Teeth with weakened enamel (which can absorb coloured food and drink like red wine)

During your initial consultation we will assess your personal needs, examine the health of your teeth and gums and discuss the desired result you wish to achieve.

The Veneers Procedure

To begin, the surface of the teeth receiving veneers are lightly buffed removing a small amount of enamel (0.5 – 1.0mm). Removing enamel prevents your teeth looking oversized, and helps create a strong bond with the porcelain veneers. Removing enamel will not affect the strength or function of your teeth.

An impression mould of your teeth will then be prepared and used as a template to create your porcelain veneers, ensuring a perfect fit and alignment with your gum-line, creating a very natural looking smile. During a second appointment your veneer will then be seated in place and secured with dental ‘cement’ which is a long-lasting bonding solution. They will be adjusted for comfort and ideal fit with your surrounding and opposing teeth, before being polished to a natural lustre. We may also recommend receiving teeth whitening in conjunction with veneers for a cohesive and realistic look.

How do I make my veneers last?

Maintaining good oral hygiene is just as important for the longevity of your new veneers as it is for your natural teeth. Although veneers are porcelain, they are still bonded to your natural teeth, which are still susceptible to decay and gum disease.
